FAQ

1. Do you marry straight couples?

Yes, I perform ceremonies for all couples.

2. How do I get a copy of my marriage license once I am married in San Francisco County?

You would not receive a certified copy of your marriage license automatically. When you obtained the marriage license, you would have been given a small request form, which you could then submit, 10 days AFTER your ceremony, to the address on your request form along with the $13.00 per copy fee and a self-addressed stamped envelope. If you no longer have the request form and wish to purchase a certified copy of your marriage, please visit the following link Certified Copies of Marriage Licenses.

3. In addition to performing ceremonies, do you provide other wedding services?

No, I do not.  I am adding information and resources to the website based on questions I receive from couples, but I do not reserve wedding venues or contact other vendors to request pricing information.

4. What kind of certification/training do you have?

I completed a 2-year spiritual program through the Church of Natural Grace and received a reverend’s license upon completion.  I maintain a membership through the church which allows me to perform wedding ceremonies.  Here is a scan of my license.

5. Do you expect a gratuity in addition to your fee?

No.

6. Do you normally stay for the reception/party?

No–I typically stay for photos (if the couple wants that) and sometimes for hors d’oeuvres (if I am invited), but I do not expect to be invited to the reception following the ceremony.

7. I want to change my name after I get married. How do I do that?

You will need a copy of the recorded marriage license (with the clerk’s signature and stamp) for each person pursuing a name change. Please visit the Social Security Administration website for forms and instructions.
